One clear job

Put the scope ahead of the number.

A useful quote lets the client see what work is included, what is outside it, and the proposed price before a project starts. Enter the deliverables and any exclusions first. Then add quantities and unit prices for each service.

Use your own quote number, dates and agreed terms. Preview the document, download the PDF and send it through your own email or client portal. This tool does not send, approve or sign quotes.

  1. Define the boundary. Name the included work and optional exclusions.
  2. Price each service. Enter quantities and prices, then any agreed discount, tax or requested deposit.
  3. Review the client version. Check names, dates, scope and totals before sharing the downloaded PDF.

Exact cents

Know how the total is made.

Each service amount is quantity × unit price, rounded half up to a cent. The discount comes off the subtotal. If you add a uniform tax, it applies to the discounted pre-tax amount. A deposit request is a percentage of the quoted total; it does not mean any money has been paid.

The optional private price check subtracts your estimated internal cost from the price after discount and before tax. Its margin divides that estimated profit by the same pre-tax price. It is a planning check, not an accounting or tax calculation. Your cost and margin never go into the PDF.

For a private estimated cost of $180.00, modeled profit is $94.90 and pre-tax margin is 34.52%. The private figures do not appear on the client PDF.

Know what the file means

A proposal is not a payment record.

This generator creates a proposed price for defined work. It does not determine whether your client accepted it, whether tax applies, or whether a deposit was received. Confirm any local legal, tax or industry requirements separately. If the work is complete and payment is due, prepare an invoice for that distinct job.

The PDF uses USD, English labels and Letter or A4 paper. It supports one uniform user-entered tax rate, one discount and up to 50 service lines. It does not include signatures, online payment, email sending or quote history.

Privacy and recovery

Your entries, including the private internal cost, stay in this browser tab. PDF generation runs locally after you request it. This quote editor does not add analytics, upload the document, auto-save a draft or place quote data in a URL. Refreshing or closing the tab may lose unfinished work; download a PDF for your records. Avoid entering client details on a shared device.
